If you are just starting out, the bigger, the easier. Heavier creates more momentum and wider gives you more time to get the timing right. An expert can hoop a hoop 2x or less the width of their own waist. A beginner needs a hoop 3x their width- and more doesn’t hurt! Now if you want to learn hooping on all parts of you body such as the very EASY arm exercises, you will need to get smaller hoops- lots of people like to have both large and small hoops (I prefer just small)- keep the torso easy and go easy on the arms and legs.
I make Dizzy Hoops out of very kink resitant, durable plastic. They come fully decorated, non decorated, racing stripes/bands and with decoration kits for you do make you own!
You can order them with loud shakey shake sound, soft sand shake sound No-shake sound.
Dizzy Hoops cost more than store-bought hoops, but they lasts years longer AND they are much better, more beautiful and SPARKLIER!

Hi Paul,
We met at Burning Man. I enjoyed meeting you and your performance.
I was interested in getting one of the hoops you had with you. The big white one. How can I go about ordering one? It is my favorite hoop by far.
Thanks,
Belinda
Paul,
I want to thank you for your reference to Native American Hoop Dance on this page. I was actually not aware of this custom so I did some searching to learn more about it and found many things including this amazing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-PEaWUduCM&feature=youtube_gdata
What an amazing and beautiful dance. Thank you for leading me to this bit of cultural enlightenment!
I am new to beading and am confused by all the sizes of seed beads. Can you tell me how many beads I get in each different size? Seed beads are measured in aughts. This can be confusing as we are used to inches and millimeters as our unit of measure. Aughts are the number of beads lined up side by side in a given space. A 6/0 bead means that you will get 6 beads in the space. 11/0 will be eleven beads in the same amount of space. So the smaller the number the bigger the bead, as it takes fewer beads to fill the space. This chart will help you determine the number of seed beads per inch based on size. Remember that this is approximate as there are differences between manufacturers, country of origin and finishes.
For the children’s parties, the parent usually tells us what they are willing to spend per child and we then direct the children to the beads that fall within that range. If the party is held at the shoppe, there is a $20 instruction fee and attendance is limited to 10 children. If the party is held at a location of the parent’s choice, there is a $30 fee, and we prefer no more than 15.
